Jam and fruit tarts!
This is something I like to make around Christmas time because I don’t like mince pies so I think this is a good substitute. It’s super easy and quick and they taste pretty good.
You will need:
– Puff Pastry
– Jam (I used strawberry and raspberry)
– Frozen or fresh fruit (I used strawberry and raspberry)
– Muffin trays
– Something circular to cut circles with (one larger and one smaller)
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 200°c and take out 2 sheets of puff pastry and allow to thaw.
Step 2: Using your circle, lightly mark out where you’re going to cut. Make sure you maximize the space!
Step 3: Cut it out!
Step 4: Spray your trays with cooking spray and line the tin with your larger circles.
Step 5: Place a teaspoon of jam into each tart. Don’t put too much in because it will bubble over while cooking if you do.
Step 6: Take your fruit and place it on top of the jam. Again, don’t fill it too much otherwise it will end in disaster.
Step 7: Beat your egg in a small glass or cup with a fork until the yolk and white is mixed. Using a brush, lightly glaze the smaller circles.
Step 8: Place them on top of your tarts.
Step 9: Cook for 20-25 minutes or until the tops are golden.
Step 10: Remove from the oven and enjoy!
Thanks for reading today guys! Check out tomorrow’s post to see what I did with some leftover pastry! 🙂 x
